Implants
Dental Implants
Indications
- Single and multiple missing teeth
- All teeth missing in the mouth
Procedure
Dental Implants are ideal treatment for your missing teeth. They stabilize and provide retention to your crowns/ bridges and dentures effectively, thus enabling and facilitating comfort while chewing and eating your food. Latest techniques have ensured and enhanced their success rates and shortened the treatment time and made it a painless experience.
The procedure involves screening the local and systemic condition of the patient for eligibility of them getting implants placed in their mouths. The patient may have to undergo a CBCT scan to check for the availability of sufficient amounts of bone to place the implant. At the onset of the actual procedure, local anesthesia is given, followed by reflection of gums, to expose the underlying bone, appropriate size drills are used to prepare a cavity followed by insertion of the dental implant screw. This is followed by placement of an immediate temporary crown, depending on suitable amounts of underlying bone. Alternatively the implants are left buried in the bone for a period of 4-6 months to ensure healing and its acceptance and integration with the adjacent bone. Post healing, the implants are loaded with the crown and/or bridge to suitably and functionally replace your missing tooth.
